Intorduction
The threaded drill rods in the top hammer rock drilling tools include extension rods, drifter rods and MF drill rods. The characteristic of this kind of drill rod is that the shank adapter, rod, coupling sleeve and bit are connected into a rock drill string group through the threads on the rod body. The basic requirements of the drill string for the connecting thread are: tight connection, good energy transmission effect, strong wear resistance and convenient disassembly. At present, there are two commonly used thread forms: rope thread (R32,R35,R38...) or trapezoidal thread (T38,T45,T51...).
The quality of drilling will be affected if poor quality drill rod is used or the drill rod continues to be used after long-term bending and deformation.Once the drill rod is bent and deformed, the drilling path will be changed.Even though the propeller guide is straight, the hole is still sideways.In this case, it is easy to appear "string hole" (two holes hit together), resulting in over-excavation and under-excavation during blasting.
To do a good job of the use of drill rod management, the first step should be to choose drill rods with good quality, good toughness and not easy to bend. Secondly, during the drilling process of the rock drill rig, check whether the drill rod is bent or deformed frequently. If the drill rod cannot be returned due to bending, it should be replaced with a new drill rod in time.

3. Thread drill rod drilling should be manually gently screw tight, to ensure close cooperation, can not be used directly on the drilling rig, to prevent damage to the drill rod.
4. The drill rod should be stored in a dry place, and the bottom should be supported at multiple points. The drill rod should be regularly maintained during long-term storage.
5. Drill rods must not be used as a support platform for heavy tail stacking, and must not be randomly placed under gravel or coal piles or stacked randomly.
6. After the drill rod maintenance, rust/dust cleaning, the protective cap should be buckled or packed and sealed to ensure that the drill rod is frequently used and new.
