About Duplex 2205 Stainless Steel
Duplex 2205 stainless steel (both ferritic and austenitic) is used extensively in applications that require good corrosion resistance and strength. The S31803 grade stainless steel has undergone modifications resulting in UNS S32205, offering higher resistance to corrosion. This nitrogen-enhanced stainless steel provides excellent corrosion resistance along with high strength, outperforming most other austenitic stainless steels.

Temperature Limitations: Not suitable for use above 300°C (brittle micro-constituents precipitation) or below -50°C (ductile-to-brittle transition).
