316Ti stainless steel is an austenitic grade containing molybdenum for improved corrosion resistance, particularly against pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. The titanium content (approximately 0.5%) stabilizes the structure at temperatures over 800°C, preventing carbide precipitation and protecting against corrosion.

316Ti maintains mechanical properties comparable to 316 and 316H across temperature ranges, with identical ASME Section VIII Design Allowable Values up to 1500°F. For typical aqueous corrosion applications, 316Ti offers no significant advantage over dual certified 316/316L, but provides benefits in specific high-temperature corrosion environments.
