The OMRON CJ1W-NCF82 is a high-performance PROFIBUS-DP Master Unit designed for seamless integration of Omron's CJ1 series programmable logic controllers into PROFIBUS networks. This communication module enables the CJ1 PLC to function as a Class 1 Master on a PROFIBUS-DP network, allowing it to efficiently manage data exchange with multiple PROFIBUS slave devices such as remote I/O, drives, sensors, and other field equipment from various manufacturers. The module is engineered to meet the demands of industrial automation systems requiring high-speed deterministic communication and reliable device networking.
This PROFIBUS master unit features a compact design that occupies a single slot in the CJ1 series CPU rack backplane, preserving valuable space for other I/O modules. It supports comprehensive diagnostic capabilities that monitor network status and slave device conditions, facilitating quick troubleshooting and system maintenance. The CJ1W-NCF82 simplifies network configuration through its straightforward setup process and supports cyclic and acyclic data communication with slaves. Technical Specifications:
The OMRON CJ1W-NCF82 PROFIBUS-DP Master Unit supports communication speeds from 9.6 kbps up to 12 Mbps, automatically detecting and configuring to the network baud rate. The module can manage up to 125 slave devices per network with a maximum I/O capacity of 7680 bytes total for both input and output data combined. It operates on a 5V DC power supply drawn from the CJ1 backplane with a maximum current consumption of 0.65A.
The unit features a PROFIBUS connector complying with IEC 61158-2 standards and supports DP-V0 and DP-V1 protocols for comprehensive PROFIBUS functionality. The module's operating temperature range is 0 to 55°C with a storage temperature range of -25 to 65°C. It provides extensive diagnostic functions including slave station diagnostics, configuration diagnostics, and network diagnostics with detailed error information available through the CPU unit. The module complies with international standards including UL, CSA, and CE markings, ensuring global applicability.
