The Allen-Bradley 25B-D013N114 is a Bulletin 25B manual motor starter, also known as a manual motor protector. This compact and robust device provides a combination of manual control and integrated overload protection for small single-phase or three-phase motors. It functions as a simple ON/OFF switch while incorporating a built-in thermal overload relay that automatically trips to disconnect the motor in the event of an overload or phase loss condition, helping to prevent motor burnout and damage.
This particular model is designed for easy installation and operation, featuring a visible handle that clearly indicates the ON/OFF/TRIPPED status. Its compact size makes it ideal for use in control panels, machinery, and equipment where space is limited, such as in HVAC systems, pumps, conveyors, and small machine tools. The starter is housed in a durable enclosure that offers a degree of protection against accidental contact with live parts. It is a cost-effective and reliable solution for applications that do not require the remote control capabilities of a magnetic contactor but still need essential motor protection.
Technical Specifications:
The Allen-Bradley 25B-D013N114 is a manual motor starter with a maximum rated operational current of 13 Amperes at 600V AC. It is designed for use with motors up to 5 HP at 240V AC or 10 HP at 480V AC in three-phase applications, and 2 HP at 120V AC or 3 HP at 240V AC in single-phase applications. The device features a three-pole design and is equipped with a thermal-magnetic trip unit. The thermal trip provides overload protection with a Class 10 trip characteristic, ensuring fast response to overloads, while the magnetic trip offers instantaneous short-circuit protection.
The starter is equipped with a manual ON/OFF handle and includes an automatic trip indicator that visibly shows when the device has tripped due to an overload. It is supplied in a NEMA Type 1 general-purpose indoor enclosure that provides a degree of protection against dust and accidental contact. The electrical connections are made via screw terminals. The device is UL Listed and CSA Certified, ensuring it meets recognized safety standards for North America.
