1.Improve the lean meat rate and meat quality of pigs: When 200ppb organic chromium was added to the diet of producing finishing pigs, the loin eye muscle area was increased from 31.5cm2 to 38.4cm2, and the lean meat percentage was increased from 52.3% to 55.7%.
2.Improve sow litter size: Studies have shown that the addition of 0.2mg/kg Cr to the diet of sows from growth until mating resulted in an average gain of 2.2 piglets per litter by the time the second litter was produced.
3.Improve the laying rate and hatching rate of chickens: The results showed that adding 200ppb to the diet could increase the laying rate (76.36%-77.56%) and hatching rate (78.0%-81.7%).
Points of Attention
1. The general dosage of organic chromium used in feed is 0.2~1mg/kg, and should not be higher than 1mg/kg. Excessive organic chromium can cause dysfunction of animal hemoglobin, inhibit growth and damage liver and kidney.
2. There is competition and antagonism between chromium and zinc and iron, so the amount of iron, zinc, copper and manganese should be reduced appropriately when applying organic chromium, so as to ensure a better effect of organic chromium.
3. There is no obvious interaction and antagonism between organic chromium and other additives, but it has certain synergistic effect when combined with antibiotics.
