Product Overview

This equipment is specifically designed for treating wastewater generated by exhaust gas treatment systems. Exhaust gas treatment facilities (such as spray towers, scrubbing towers, biological deodorization devices, wet electrostatic precipitators, etc.) periodically discharge wastewater during operation. This wastewater typically contains absorbed pollutants, including VOCs, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, surfactants, and some organic amines and alcohols. Its characteristics include a relatively small volume but large fluctuations in pollutant concentration, drastic pH changes, and often an unpleasant odor; direct discharge often fails to meet environmental standards.

This system employs electrochemical oxidation technology to efficiently degrade organic matter in wastewater, remove color and odor, and reduce COD without adding any chemicals. It also boasts significant advantages such as no sludge production, no electrode scaling or clogging, and low operating costs. The treated effluent meets discharge standards or can be reused as makeup water for the exhaust gas system..

Working principle

Wastewater from the exhaust gas scrubbing process, after pre-filtration (to remove large suspended solids), enters the electrochemical reactor. Under the action of electrodes:

Electro-oxidation: Strong oxidizing groups (hydroxyl radicals, OH, etc.) are generated at the anode, oxidizing and decomposing VOCs, sulfur/nitrogen-containing organic matter, amines, alcohols, etc., absorbed from the exhaust gas into CO₂, H₂O, or harmless small molecules, while simultaneously eliminating odors.

COD and toxicity removal: Large organic molecules undergo chain-breaking degradation, resulting in a significant decrease in COD and purification of the water.

The treated clarified liquid meets discharge standards or, after simple filtration, can be reused as makeup water for the exhaust gas scrubbing tower, achieving near-zero wastewater discharge. The amount of scum is minimal and not classified as chemical sludge, allowing for disposal as general solid waste.

Applicable types of waste gas and wastewater treatment

Spray tower washing wastewater: Wastewater generated after treating acidic/alkaline waste gases (HCl, SO₂, NH₃, etc.) and organic waste gases (VOCs), containing absorbed pollutants and surfactants in the spray solution.

Biological deodorization device drainage: Wastewater generated from biological filters or biological trickling filters treating odorous gases containing hydrogen sulfide, mercaptans, ammonia, etc., containing biological metabolites and residual organic matter.

Wet electrostatic precipitator drainage: Contains dust, a small amount of organic matter, and possible heavy metal particles; electrochemically oxidizes organic matter and assists in particle sedimentation.

Activated carbon/zeolite adsorption regeneration wastewater: Wastewater containing desorbed organic matter generated from thermal or chemical regeneration.

Photocatalytic/plasma waste gas treatment equipment drainage: Condensate or washing water containing intermediate products generated from waste gas pretreatment.
