Product Overview
The PEPPERL+FUCHS KFD2-SR2-Ex1.W.LB is a 1-channel isolated barrier switch amplifier designed for intrinsic safety applications in industrial environments.
Key Specifications
1-channel isolated barrier for digital signals
24 V DC power supply via Power Rail
Accepts dry contact or NAMUR sensor inputs
Functions as signal splitter (1 input, 2 outputs)
Relay contact output with fault relay contact
Integrated line fault detection (LFD)
Reversible mode of operation
Safety Integrity Level: Up to SIL 2 (SC 3) according to IEC/EN 61508
Functional Description
This isolated barrier safely transfers digital signals from NAMUR sensors or dry contacts located in hazardous areas to non-hazardous control systems. The device controls relay contact outputs based on input signal state changes from proximity sensors or mechanical contacts.
Operational mode can be reversed and line fault detection can be disabled via configuration switches. During fault conditions, the relay returns to its de-energized state with LED fault indication according to NAMUR NE 44 standards. When powered via Power Rail, an additional collective error message is available.
