Function Description

The KCD2-SOT-1.LB provides complete galvanic isolation between field circuits and control circuits. The device transfers digital signals from NAMUR sensors (proximity sensors, level switches, flow monitors) or dry contacts (mechanical switches, relays, push buttons) from the field to the control system.

How it works:
  • The input signal controls two passive transistor outputs independently
  • Output I always provides the signal output (following the input state)
  • Output II can be configured via DIP switch as either:
    • Signal output: Duplicates the input signal (signal splitter mode)
    • Fault message output: Indicates line fault conditions (breakage or short-circuit)
  • The mode of operation can be reversed via DIP switches (normally open / normally closed)
  • Line fault detection (LFD) monitors field wiring integrity and can be disabled if not required
  • Fault conditions are indicated via front-panel LEDs according to NAMUR NE44 and a collective error message output on the Power Rail
