The 3OG-40M is a high-precision inertial angular rate sensor based on the optical Sagnac effect, designed to measure the angular velocity of a moving platform along its sensitive axis. At the core of this device is an advanced fiber-optic ring, which serves as the angular velocity sensing unit.
It employs a digital closed-loop detection circuit to extract the optical path difference created by the interference between clockwise and counterclockwise propagating light waves.
