High-Transparency Polycarbonate (PC) Carrier Tape with High Heat Resistance
Product Overview
Carrier tape, also known as component tape, is a strip-shaped electronic packaging material specially developed for automated packaging in Surface Mount Technology (SMT). Equipped with equidistant pockets (recesses) for holding electronic components and precise sprocket indexing holes along its length, the pockets carry components while the indexing holes engage with the gears of SMT feeders to achieve accurate step-by-step transportation.
Used together with cover tape, carrier tape forms sealed packaging by heat-sealing cover tape on top. It safeguards electronic components against contamination and damage during transportation, storage and automated production. During SMT assembly, the cover tape is peeled off. The pick-and-place machine positions via indexing holes and sequentially retrieves components from pockets for mounting onto PCBs.
