The SEW-EURODRIVE BE2B is a DC-operated electromagnetic spring-applied disk brake (fail-safe type) configured as a factory option on EURODRIVE® DT/DV AC motors and R/K/S/W series gearmotors. It is spring-closed (applied when de-energized) and electrically released via a half-wave or full-wave rectifier (BG/BGE) mounted in the motor terminal box. The BE2 size provides a maximum holding torque of 20 Nm (reducible to 5/10/14 Nm via spring package selection). It is typically specified with 180 V DC coil voltage (excited from 230 V AC single-phase or 400 V AC three-phase via rectifier).
