The 440E-L13137 is a tongue-actuated (key-interlocked) safety switch from the Guardmaster 440E series, designed to monitor the position of machine guards and interlock access doors. It features 2 Normally Closed (N/C) safety contacts and 1 Normally Open (N/O) auxiliary contact, with a rotatable head (4×90° positions) for flexible mounting. The switch accepts a coded or standard tongue (ordered separately — typically 440E-Txxx) and is rated IP67 for washdown and harsh environments.

Dual N/C Safety Contacts: Provides redundant positive-opening contacts for safety monitoring — both must open when the guard is opened to trigger a safe stop.
Rotatable Head: 270° total adjustability in 90° increments allows the switch to be mounted in any orientation relative to the guard door swing.
Auxiliary N/O Contact: Gives a separate signal for guard-closed indication or PLC status feedback without consuming a safety input.
Tamper-Resistant Tongue Design: The tongue (key) is captured only when fully inserted — partial insertion will not close the safety contacts.

Machine Guard Door Interlocking: Preventing access to hazardous areas (presses, conveyors, robotic cells) until the machine is safely stopped.
Process Isolation: Ensuring covers on mixers, grinders, or slitters remain closed during operation.
Note: The tongue/key (440E-Txxxx) is ordered separately and selected based on door offset and actuator style (straight, angled, flexible).
