Product Overview
The Endress+Hauser FMU40-ANB2A4 is a micromotion ultrasonic level transmitter from the Prosonic M FMU40 series, designed for continuous, non-contact level measurement of liquids and bulk solids in tanks, open channels, and silos. It features two 4-20mA outputs, two relay contacts, and a 100-230V AC power supply. The transmitter can be paired with a wide range of Endress+Hauser ultrasonic sensors (FDU90/FDU91/FDU92/FDU93 series) for measuring ranges up to 15 m on liquids and 40 m on solids.

Dual Channel / Dual Output: Two independently configurable 4-20mA outputs allow simultaneous level + temperature or level + calculated flow (weir/flume) reporting.
Pump & Alarm Control: Two integrated SPDT relays enable direct control of fill/drain pumps or high/low level alarms without external interposing relays.
Advanced Echo Processing: Prosonic patented algorithms suppress false echoes from tank obstructions, agitators, or surface turbulence.
Weir & Flume Calculation: Built-in math function computes flow rate from level in open channel installations (Parshall flume, Palmer-Bowlus, etc.).
Applications
Open Channel Flow: Level + flow measurement in wastewater flumes and weirs for discharge monitoring.
Storage Tank Level: Non-contact liquid level in chemical storage, water, and wastewater tanks (above ground / underground with pit sensor).
Bulk Solid Silos: Level monitoring in grain, plastic pellet, or powder silos (with appropriate FDUsolid sensor).
Sumps & Wet Wells: Pump control based on level setpoints with alternating pump logic.
