Any shift to new materials like ocean-bound plastics would involve rigorous testing to ensure performance parity with our current recycled PET, and would be communicated as a new product option with its own specifications.Q2: How is waste from your own production process managed?
A2: Production off-cuts and trimmings are collected and recycled back into the manufacturing stream where possible, or sent to dedicated plastic recycling facilities, minimizing landfill waste.Q3: What is the energy footprint of your manufacturing process?
A3: We are actively working to measure and reduce our energy consumption. As a next step, we aim to provide more detailed carbon footprint data. Currently, the high recycled content of our panels represents a significant reduction in embodied energy compared to virgin plastic.Q4: Would using a new sustainable material affect the production lead time or MOQ?
A4: Initially, a new material would likely be introduced as a custom product line, requiring a higher project MOQ (e.g., 200 sqm) and possibly a different lead time during the pilot phase, before being integrated into standard offerings.Q5: How does the product’s recyclability at end-of-life factor into your design process?
A5: Design for recyclability is a core principle. We avoid multi-material laminations that are hard to separate and select surface finishes compatible with PET recycling streams, ensuring the panels can have a future life as new products.
