The core role of the antenna is to receive L-Band correction signals from satellite-based augmentation services (SBAS) such as OmniSTAR or custom Network RTK services. These signals provide real-time, centimeter-level corrections to the standard GPS/GNSS signals.
2. Enabling Centimeter-Level Positioning for Precision Operation:
By receiving these corrections and working with the internal RTK GNSS module, the antenna enables Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) positioning. This is fundamental for the T50's agricultural applications:
Precision Spraying & Spreading: Ensures the drone follows pre-defined flight paths with centimeter-level accuracy, preventing gaps or overlaps in application. This maximizes efficiency and minimizes waste of fertilizers and pesticides.
Autonomous Field Operation: Allows the drone to autonomously return to exact locations for resuming operations or for site-specific treatment.
Terrain Following: Works with the drone's radar to maintain a consistent height above crops, even on uneven terrain, ensuring uniform chemical application.
3. Ensuring Operational Reliability and Uptime:
A stable RTK signal is vital for uninterrupted field operations. The antenna is designed to maintain a strong, reliable link to correction services, minimizing the risk of the drone reverting to lower-accuracy standard GPS (which would compromise application quality).
4. Integration with the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station:
The antenna is fully compatible with the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station. In this setup, it can receive hyper-accurate, locally-generated correction data broadcast by the D-RTK 2, creating a private, high-reliability positioning network that is immune to cellular signal issues in remote areas.
