German automotive parts plants and tier suppliers operate inside buildings that were designed around fixed workstations and hand carts. When internal transport was automated, the available aisle width did not change with it. This 12 inch Mecanum wheel AGV is built for exactly that condition: a rated total load of 3,000 kg, carried on a chassis that rotates about its own centre and translates sideways without changing heading.
Most automation projects in existing halls fail on geometry, not on payload. A differential-drive truck needs roughly twice its own length in clear floor to change direction, which is rarely available between lines. An omnidirectional chassis removes that requirement entirely, so aisles stay as they are and no civil work is needed.
