Description:

The L10M from AiLF Instruments is a compact, handheld methane detection device designed for pipeline inspections, petrochemical plants, and industrial monitoring, is an eye-safe laser-based natural gas detector (methane) that can quickly and efficiently detect leaks up to 50 meters away.


The L10M Remote Laser Methane Leak Detector is a hand-held remote methane leak detector (RMLD). This laser-based Remote Methane Detector is easy to use, highly sensitive and easily detects at 50 meters (165 feet) away, with a sensitivity to methane of ±5ppm. making it the ultimate tool for natural gas leak inspection of residential buildings and properties, gas leak inspection of natural gas pipelines, and methane leak inspection of gas tank containers.

Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS):

Remote Laser methane detectors use TDLAS (Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy) technology to provide precise methane detection with a tunable diode laser. The laser emits a narrow beam of light at a wavelength that matches methane’s absorption profile. As the beam passes through the gas plume, some of the light is absorbed by the methane molecules. A sensor then captures the reflected light, and by analyzing how much is absorbed, the

 system calculates the methane concentration.
