The JKD-516 is a standalone photoelectric smoke alarm developed for apartments, flats and multi-family residential buildings. Designed for everyday fire protection, it combines reliable smoke detection with battery-powered operation, making installation simple in both new construction and renovation projects.
Using a photoelectric reflection sensor, the detector continuously monitors for smoke particles and activates an audible alarm of at least 85dB at 3 metres when smoke reaches the specified sensitivity level.
Manufactured according to EN14604:2005/AC:2008, the JKD-516 is suitable for apartment developers, residential distributors, wholesalers and private-label brands supplying the European market.
Apartment buildings present unique fire safety challenges because multiple households share common walls, corridors and escape routes. Early smoke detection helps occupants respond more quickly and supports safer evacuation.
The JKD-516 is designed for residential indoor use where easy installation, independent operation and straightforward maintenance are important. Since each detector operates independently, installation does not require additional control panels or communication systems.
Its compact design also blends well into modern residential interiors without affecting ceiling aesthetics.
The detector uses a photoelectric reflection sensor with a smoke sensitivity of 0.25dB/m, providing reliable detection of visible smoke particles commonly produced during residential fires.
Powered by 2 * 1.5V AA batteries, the detector continues operating during electrical power interruptions and does not require mains wiring.
An audible alarm of ≥85dB at 3 metres helps notify occupants quickly when smoke is detected.
The detector is designed with a standby current below 50μA and an alarm current below 70μA, supporting efficient battery performance.
A combined Test/Silence button allows users to verify normal operation and temporarily silence nuisance alarms after confirming there is no fire hazard.
