Typical Applications
1.4406 is often chosen where you need 316L-type properties but with stricter impurity limits, including:

High-purity chemical processing
Pharmaceutical plants
Environments requiring excellent weldability and corrosion resistance
Applications with chloride exposure and slightly more aggressive conditions than standard 316L
