X1NiCrMoCuN25-20-7 EN 10028-7 1.4529 EN Flange Manufacturer
1.4529 steel is a highly alloyed austenitic stainless steel, also known as a super austenitic stainless steel. It is designed for excellent corrosion resistance, especially in very aggressive environments such as seawater, chlorides, and acidic media.
Chemical Composition

Content (Weight %)
Carbon (C)
≤ 0.02 %
Silicon (Si)
≤ 0.7 %
Manganese (Mn)
≤ 2.0 %
Phosphorus (P)
≤ 0.03 %
Sulfur (S)

Nitrogen (N)
0.15 – 0.25 %
Key Composition Features
High Nickel (24–26%): Ensures a fully austenitic structure, good toughness, and strong resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride environments.
High Chromium (19–21%): Provides a strong passive layer on the surface, essential for general corrosion and pitting resistance.
Very High Molybdenum (6–7%): Greatly improves resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, especially in chloride-containing environments.
Nitrogen Addition (0.15–0.25%): Increases strength and further improves pitting resistance; helps stabilize the austenitic structure.
Copper (0.5–1.5%): Enhances resistance to certain acids, particularly reducing acids like sulfuric acid.
Very Low Carbon, Sulfur, Phosphorus: Minimizes risk of sensitization (intergranular corrosion) and improves weldability and overall corrosion performance.
Typical Applications
Because of this alloy balance, 1.4529 is used where conventional stainless steels like 304, 316L, or even 904L are not sufficient—such as:
Offshore and marine applications
Chemical processing (especially with chlorides and acids)
Flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems
Components in the oil & gas industry exposed to sour or chloride-rich conditions
If you need exact values for design or certification, you should always confirm with the relevant standard (e.g., EN 10088) or the specific mill certificate for the batch you are using, as different manufacturers can have small variations within these ranges.
