Front & Back Skins: Rolled aluminum coils, usually 0.2mm to 0.5mm thick. The exterior face has a PVDF paint coating.
Core: Most commonly polyethylene (PE) or fire-retardant mineral-filled core (often called "FR" grade). For high-rise buildings, A2-grade non-combustible mineral cores are increasingly mandated by building codes.
Adhesive Bond: A polymer bonding film holds the skins to the core.
The PVDF coating is what sets this material apart from standard polyester-coated ACM.

Color Consistency & Aesthetic Variety: Available in a vast range of uniform, metallic, and anodized-effect colors. Matte finishes are very popular in modern architecture.
PVDF aluminum composite panels are the premium choice for:
Building Facades / Cladding (Curtain Walls): The most common use. Provides a modern, flat, and sleek appearance.
Architectural Signage & Branding: Durable and good-looking for interior and exterior signs.
Interior Decoration: Wall panels, ceilings, and column covers in commercial spaces.
Retrofit & Renovation: Used to cover old, worn-out building exteriors.
This is the most important factor when specifying ACM.
PE Core (Standard): Economical, but polyethylene is highly combustible. It melts and burns, can contribute to rapid fire spread, and produces toxic dripping. Banned for high-rise or certain commercial uses in many countries.
Fire-Retardant (FR) Core: Contains mineral fillers to slow combustion. Better, but still has organic content. Often used in mid-rise buildings where local codes allow.
A2 / Non-Combustible Core: Core made of >90% mineral materials (like aluminum trihydroxide). This is the current global standard for high-rise and sensitive buildings as it meets the highest fire safety classifications (e.g., A2-s1,d0 in Europe). Always specify the core type based on local building codes and project height.
