Pvdf aluminum composite panels are a type of sandwich panel consisting of:
Two thin aluminum sheets as the outer skins.
A core material (polyethylene PE, fire-retardant FR, or mineral A2) in between.
A PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) resin-based paint coating, pre-applied to the aluminum skins.
The PVDF coating is the defining feature, typically a 70% PVDF / 30% acrylic blend, known for its exceptional durability.

The Coating is Separate from the Core
This is the most common point of confusion:
A panel can have a premium PVDF coating (for weather resistance) on top of a flammable PE core. It will look great and resist fading but will still be a fire hazard.
Conversely, a fire-rated A2 core can be paired with a standard Polyester (PE) coating.
The ideal specification for a premium, safe facade is: PVDF Coating + A2 (or FR) Core.
