This AAC (All Aluminum Conductor) is a bare stranded cable composed entirely of electrical-grade aluminum wires arranged in concentric layers. It contains no steel core or reinforcing member, so both current conduction and mechanical support are provided by the aluminum strands themselves. This construction simplifies splicing and termination, avoids bimetallic contact at connections, and removes magnetic losses associated with steel-reinforced designs. The bare aluminum surface develops a natural oxide film that supports outdoor durability. The conductor is supplied in multiple sizes for overhead power transmission line projects.
