  5. Operating‑condition Compatibility & Practical Output 5.1 Differentiate hot‑top designs from conventional crystallizer types. Match equipment to your ingot diameter, casting velocity and alloy grades; 6‑series and 7‑series alloys demand distinct cooling parameters and taper values. 5.2 Field performance serves as practical evaluation standard: premium crystallizers yield aluminum rods with smooth surfaces, reduced cold shuts, tension cracks and bamboo defects. Minimal housing deformation under thermal load translates to extended service life.
