1.Selection of alloys
Ceiling aluminum sheet usually adopt the following aluminum alloy series:
Series 1000 (such as 1050, 1060): Pure aluminum (aluminum content ≥ 99%), good corrosion resistance, but low strength, suitable for general decorative purposes.
Series 3000 (such as 3003 and 3004): With the addition of manganese, they have better strength and corrosion resistance than the 1000 series and are often used in situations where slightly higher strength is required.
Series 5000 (such as 5005, 5052): With added magnesium, it has high strength and good weather resistance, making it suitable for damp or highly corrosive environments (such as bathrooms and kitchens).
2.Surface treatment process
To meet both aesthetic and functional requirements, the surface of aluminum plates is often treated as follows:
(1) Anodizing: Forms a dense oxide film, enhancing corrosion resistance and wear resistance, and can present metallic textures (such as silver or champagne colors).
(2) Spraying (PVDF or PE):
① PVDF coating: Resistant to ultraviolet rays and aging, suitable for outdoor or long-term exposure environments.
② PE coating (polyester coating): Rich in colors, low in cost, mostly used indoors.
(3) Coating: Provides temporary surface protection, removed after installation to prevent scratches during transportation.
(4) Texturing/Glossy treatment: Forms textures or high-gloss effects through mechanical or chemical methods, enhancing decorative appeal.
3.Common specification parameters
(1) Thickness: 0.5mm - 3.0mm (indoor use commonly 0.6 - 1.2mm, for outdoor or large-span applications, a thicker material is required).
(2) Size: Standard board width is 600mm, 800mm, 1200mm, etc. Length can be customized (such as 2400mm, 3000mm). Shape: Flat plate, (3)perforated plate (for sound absorption function), special-shaped plate (curved or three-dimensional design).
4.Core performance features
Lightweight: Density is only 2.7g/cm³, reducing the load on the structure and facilitating installation.
Fire resistance: A-level non-combustible material (in accordance with GB 8624 standard), suitable for public places.
Weather resistance: Resistant to ultraviolet rays and acid and alkali. The outdoor service life can reach 10 to 20 years.
Environmental friendliness: 100% recyclable, no formaldehyde emission.
Easy to process: capable of cutting, bending and punching, suitable for complex design shapes.
5.Application
Indoor: Offices, shopping malls, hospitals, residences (commonly using sprayboard or coated board).
Outside: Building curtain walls, canopies (require PVDF coating or anodized plates).
