Pig feed additive lysine is an essential amino acid for the human body and one of the essential amino acids for animals. It is an important component of protein synthesis. Although plant proteins contain a small amount of lysine, they cannot meet the needs of animals. Adding an appropriate amount of lysine to animal feed is beneficial for the healthy growth of animals.
The use of digestible or exploitable amino acids in dietary formulas can improve the accuracy of diet and the efficiency of protein use. The absorption efficiency of lysine D and L is different. D-lysine is almost impossible to absorb and use, while L-lysine mainly has biological activity.

1. Pig feed additives
(1) The protein content in feed can be appropriately reduced to promote the conversion of pig protein into muscle protein, thereby improving lean meat and carcass slaughter rates.
(2) Lysine and arginine have antagonistic effects, and when the ratio of the two is appropriate, it can improve the production performance of pigs (the dosage of lysine cannot exceed 20% of arginine).
2. Fish feed
Lysine is an essential limiting amino acid for fish. Adding it to plant nutrition can not only replace fish meal, but also reduce phosphorus emissions (the phosphorus content in plant protein is lower than that in fish meal), reducing pollution.
3. Other functions
Amino acids may be involved in the biochemical reactions and physiological functions of poultry and livestock. If there is a lack of lysine in feed, it can hinder the full use of other amino acids, which may also lead to central nervous system blockage and protein imbalance in the body.

When adding lysine to feed, the dosage should be determined based on the nutritional needs of livestock and poultry. The total dose is 0.05-0.3%, which means an increase of 500-3000 grams per ton of food is sufficient.
