A cyberattack where false GPS/GNSS signals are transmitted to a receiver.
Unlike jamming, which entirely blocks or disrupts GPS/GNSS signals, spoofing alters the signals to deceive a receiver into accepting incorrect data. This manipulation can lead to the display of false information regarding aircraft position, speed, or time, potentially causing dangerous outcomes in applications that rely on accurate GPS/GNSS data.
Typically, step one in spoofing a GNSS receiver is to jam it by broadcasting a signal in the GNSS band at such intensity that it overwhelms the receiver. When jammed, a receiver cannot register the targeted GNSS signals to provide positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) data.
Step two is providing a false satellite signal that is either created by a signal generator or is a rebroadcast of a real recorded GNSS signal, called meaconing. In the spoofed signal, the message is changed so that the receiver will calculate an incorrect position or time. As the spoofer increases the power it’s transmitting the spoofed signal at, it becomes stronger than the true signal so that it becomes the only signal the jammed receiver can identify to use. Users acquire and then start tracking the false signal
The Navigation Signal Source Module is a satellite navigation signal simulation module developed using satellite signal simulation technology. Operating across the operational frequency bands of GPS, GLONASS, BDS and Galileo navigation systems, it generates real-time simulated signals that perfectly replicate actual satellite signals. This enables applications such as drone navigation spoofing and satellite signal simulation testing, delivering precise navigation deception capabilities for precision targeting operations.
This module transmits deceptive navigation satellite signals designed to mislead drones positioning, navigation, and timing receivers through location spoofing, speed spoofing, and time spoofing. When drones receive these deceptive signals, they will use them to perform positioning maneuvers, enabling multiple deception methods including directional evasion, hovering, rapid crash, controlled landing, and flight prohibition.
The module can be customized according to user needs, and is suitable for petroleum and petrochemical industry, electric power, public security and other fields.
