Q: Our CD75+ element is exhausting faster than expected. Could the installation arrangement be the cause?
A: When a CD75+ is installed without a DD75+ upstream, it receives the full bulk liquid and particulate load that the DD stage is designed to intercept. Coalescing media is not rated for bulk liquid handling, leading to saturation and rapid pressure drop increase. Installing a DD75+ immediately upstream will restore element life to the rated interval.
Q: Does a lightly used PD75+ carbon element still need replacement at the calendar interval?
A: Carbon capacity is consumed by oil vapor adsorption load, not just flow hours. However, moisture exposure over time degrades adsorption efficiency independently of oil vapor loading. For sensitive downstream applications, replace on the calendar interval regardless of flow history. For less critical applications, outlet oil vapor testing can confirm whether remaining capacity justifies extending the interval.
Q: Can we swap elements between DD75+, CD75+, and PD75+ housings during a service if one type is unavailable?
A: No. The "75" rating refers to flow capacity, not element type. Each housing uses a different element type - particulate media, coalescing fiber, and activated carbon respectively. Fitting the wrong element type eliminates that filtration stage entirely. Always order and install the element specific to each housing.
