Gate Alloy Clear Coat is a functional two-component acrylic clearcoat created for applications where ordinary transparent topcoats may not provide the desired combination of metal-surface adhesion, clear gloss, and wheel-use protection.
The product is designed for professional refinishing of alloy rims, chrome parts, motorcycles, metal decorative components, and selected industrial metal surfaces. It uses a 2K curing process to create a clear protective coating that supports a premium mirror-gloss appearance while helping maintain the original metallic visual effect.
Its practical value is especially relevant for alloy wheel and chrome projects, where surfaces may be subject to road debris, washing, light abrasion, brake dust, moisture, UV exposure, and changing outdoor conditions.

On correctly prepared chrome surfaces, it can provide a clear protective layer without intentionally changing the underlying reflective aesthetic. Pre-testing is essential due to differences in chrome substrate and condition.
The 2K system chemically cures after combination with hardener. The resulting film is designed to help resist routine abrasion and wheel-service wear more effectively than a basic general-purpose clearcoat.
The coating is designed to offer clarity, depth, and high reflectivity. It is suitable for premium wheel customization, metal restoration, and gloss-focused decorative applications.

Step 1: Assess and Prepare the Surface
Inspect the wheel or metal component. Remove contamination, loose coating, wax, oil, silicone, brake dust, corrosion residue, and moisture. Prepare the surface according to the selected refinishing process. For chrome and difficult metal finishes, test a sample panel to check adhesion and final appearance before proceeding with the complete job.
Step 2: Mix the Components
Use formula: 3 parts Clearcoat : 1 part Hardener : 1–1.5 parts Thinner. Use only compatible supporting products and select thinner according to temperature and work conditions.
Step 3: Adjust Spray Viscosity
Target 20–22 seconds using a DIN 4 cup at 20°C.
Step 4: Apply the Clearcoat
Apply 2–3 spray coats with appropriate flash time. Recommended dry film thickness: 40–60 μm. Allow 3–5 minutes flash-off at 20°C between coats or follow the actual workshop process where conditions require adjustment.
Step 5: Cure the Coating
Choose a suitable drying method: Ambient cure overnight at 20°C, Oven cure ~40 min at 70°C, Short-wave infrared ~8 min, or Medium-wave infrared ~10–15 min. Actual cure time can be affected by substrate temperature, airflow, humidity, layer thickness, equipment, and workshop conditions.
