Zuotong Z9708 Epoxy Primer is a two-component epoxy resin anti-corrosion primer developed for prepared metal surfaces in vehicle repair, steel maintenance, equipment refurbishment and conventional industrial coating systems.
It combines epoxy resin film formation with anti-rust pigment protection to create a dense primer layer between the substrate and subsequent coatings. When the surface is properly cleaned, sanded and cured, Z9708 helps reduce the risk of early corrosion, adhesion loss and coating-system instability.
This product is positioned for conventional industrial anti-corrosion work, not as a universal solution for long-term immersion, highly aggressive chemical exposure or unverified extreme salt-spray projects.
A reliable coating system starts before spraying. For steel repair, bare-metal touch-up or equipment maintenance, the recommended workflow is:
Skipping cleaning, applying excessive wet film, or recoating before proper curing may increase the risk of pinholes, poor adhesion, sagging or later corrosion.
The epoxy-based coating film helps provide a protective barrier against moisture, oxygen and common corrosive contaminants in conventional industrial environments.
Suitable for properly prepared carbon steel, bare steel, galvanized steel, aluminum and stainless steel. Adhesion performance depends on substrate preparation, cleanliness and the complete coating system.
Designed for automotive body repair, exposed-metal repair, welding areas, machinery refurbishment, metal frames and steel structure maintenance.
After complete drying, the primer can be sanded with P600 before applying a compatible intermediate primer or finish coat.
At 25°C, the coating becomes sandable in approximately 5 hours. Under 60°C baking conditions, it can become sandable in approximately 30 minutes.
Two thin coats with approximately 5 minutes flash-off at 25°C help build a controlled primer film while reducing excessive film build risk.
Can serve as an anti-corrosion base layer before compatible epoxy intermediates, polyurethane topcoats or fluorocarbon topcoat systems.
Z9708 is intended to provide balanced anti-rust performance and practical application efficiency for routine industrial and repair projects where stable performance and cost control both matter.

Important: Mix only the amount that can be used within the working time. Do not add fresh material into an activated mixture after pot life has expired.

After complete drying, sand with P600 before applying an intermediate primer or compatible finish system.
Actual drying performance can vary with film thickness, ventilation, humidity, substrate temperature and reducer selection.
Possible causes: remaining oil, silicone contamination, rust, moisture, unsuitable sanding profile or insufficient drying.
Prevention: sand metal to P320–P400, degrease carefully, remove dust completely and keep the substrate dry.
Possible causes: coating applied too heavily, inadequate flash-off, trapped solvent or excessive film build.
Prevention: apply two thin coats, maintain approximately 5 minutes flash-off at 25°C and avoid flooding the surface.

Loose rust and corrosion must be removed first. The substrate should be sanded, degreased and cleaned before application.
For controlled application performance, use the recommended Z9288HT Epoxy Primer Hardener. Alternative hardeners should be verified through compatibility testing before use.
Possible causes include incorrect mixing ratio, low actual substrate temperature, excessive film thickness, insufficient hardener or incomplete mixing. Check the mixing process and drying environment.
It is not recommended. Apply two thin coats to help reduce solvent entrapment, sagging and pinhole risk.
