The function of the valve guide

1. Guiding and positioning to ensure movement accuracy
   
   
   The valve guide is a cylindrical part press-fitted into the valve hole of the cylinder head, and the valve stem can perform high-speed reciprocating linear movement inside the guide. It can strictly limit the radial runout of the valve, ensuring that the sealing cone surface between the valve head and the valve seat fits accurately. This avoids uneven wear and poor sealing, and guarantees the accuracy of the valve timing.
2. Assisting in heat dissipation
   
   
   When the valve is working, its temperature rises due to heating by high-temperature exhaust gas. After the valve stem contacts the wall of the valve guide, part of the heat can be transmitted to the cylinder head and then dissipated through the cooling liquid. This reduces the working temperature of the valve and prevents the valve from deformation or ablation due to overheating.
3. Reducing wear and extending service life
   
   
   Valve guides are generally made of wear-resistant materials such as cast iron and powder metallurgy, and some are coated with anti-wear coatings on the inner wall. It can bear the friction caused by the reciprocating movement of the valve stem, avoiding direct wear of the valve hole of the cylinder head by the valve stem, thus protecting the cylinder head and extending the overall service life of the valve train.
