Trolley, also known as a material handling trolley or logistics trolley, is a piece of logistics equipment specifically designed for transporting materials, semi-finished goods, and finished products within factories, warehouses, or other premises.

Structure and Materials

Castors: Available in diverse types, commonly manufactured from materials such as brass, grey rubber and PPU. Specifications primarily include fixed, flat swivel, flat swivel with brake, swivel with expansion mechanism, and swivel with expansion and brake, facilitating the movement and

positioning of trolleys.

Main Frame Materials: Comprising stainless steel, aluminium profiles, wire rods and wire mesh. Stainless steel offers corrosion resistance, suitable for high-hygiene environments; aluminium profiles provide lightweight strength; wire mesh trolleys, constructed from wire mesh and standard connectors, feature easy disassembly and flexible assembly.

Worktops: Manufactured from steel plate or chemical-resistant laminate. Some surfaces undergo special treatment for corrosion resistance and anti-static properties, catering to diverse operational requirements.

Classification

By anti-static properties: These may be categorised as anti-static trolleys and standard trolleys. Anti-static trolleys exhibit surface resistivity values ranging from 10⁶ to 10⁹ ohms, rendering them suitable for industries such as electronics where static sensitivity is critical; standard trolleys typically possess surface resistivity below 10⁶.

Classification by tray material: Primarily includes injection-moulded and metal types. Injection-moulded trolleys are lighter in weight and relatively lower in cost; metal trolleys offer higher strength and superior durability.
