Product Details
The master/slave channel goes bus off when an excessive number of communication
errors are detected and the CAN chip automatically goes off-line.An event message
will inform the users that bus off has occurred. The master/slave channel will automatically
try to recover from bus off and if succeeded an event message will informthe user that the master/slave channel has recovered from bus off.
To turn off the automatically bus off recovery you can use the system parameter
Automatically Bus Restart. Refer to Technical reference manual - System parameters.
The symptom is caused by:
Different baud rates on the master and some I/O units (the I/O units do not support auto baud rate)
No or faulty power on the bus
Short circuit between CAN high and CAN low
Cable length on trunk cables and drop cables
Faulty terminations
