The Velomitor CT (Cooling Tower) is a piezoelectric velocity transducer, designed particularly for low-frequency vibration measurement on cooling towers,
air-cooled heat exchangers, fan assemblies, or other rotating machinery with relatively low speeds (e.g. ≥ 90 rpm).
It is a specialized version of the standard Velomitor sensor, tuned for slower rotating
machines and capable of measuring vibration velocities
(rather than displacement or acceleration).

| Q1: What does “CT” in Velomitor CT stand for? This version is tuned for lower frequencies and slower rotating machinery (e.g. fan speeds) that the standard Velomitor might not optimally detect. Q2: What is the lowest frequency this sensor can reliably measure? In the tighter ±1 dB band, it is around 3.0 Hz. Q3: What is the sensitivity and signal output? to about 100 mV per in/s. Q4: What is the maximum measurable velocity amplitude? velocity of 63.5 mm/s (≈ 2.5 in/s) pk. Q5: How long can the signal cable be? A: Up to 305 m (1,000 ft) of cable (e.g. Bently part 02173006) is supported without significant signal loss. |
