The BYD Tang II is BYD's flagship mid-size SUV, featuring a front MacPherson strut independent suspension. The lower control arm ball joint is a core component connecting the lower control arm to the steering knuckle, enabling wheel up/down movement and steering while transmitting road impact loads. During daily driving, the ball joint constantly withstands road impacts and steering torque – making it one of the most wear-prone chassis components that can cause noise or handling issues.
Our product is manufactured from high-strength alloy steel via forging/cold extrusion. The ball stud surface is induction hardened and zinc/Dacromet coated, while the interior is filled with high-quality grease and protected by a dust boot. It features excellent wear resistance and corrosion protection. Strictly developed to original BYD specifications, the taper angle, thread size, and dust boot dimensions are 1:1 matching with the original vehicle for direct, seamless replacement – restoring original chassis handling performance.
Strictly developed to original Tang II fuel version ball joint specifications, with taper angle, thread size, and dust boot dimensions precisely matching the original 1:1. No drilling or modification required – direct replacement of damaged original parts. Compatible with Tang II fuel version (2.0TI) produced from 2018-2024 and platform-sharing models.
The ball stud is forged/cold extruded from 40Cr/42CrMo alloy steel with tensile strength ≥800MPa. The ball surface undergoes induction hardening (case depth 0.8-1.2mm, hardness HRC 55-62) with precision ground spherical surface – low friction coefficient, excellent wear resistance. Surface is zinc/Dacromet coated, passing 240-hour salt spray testing, suitable for all climate conditions.
The ball joint interior is filled with high-quality lithium grease or MoS₂ grease, operating range -40°C to 150°C – good low-temperature fluidity, no leakage at high temperatures. The chloroprene rubber dust boot offers excellent ozone, oil, and aging resistance, effectively preventing mud and moisture intrusion. Each ball joint undergoes 100% swivel torque testing and axial clearance testing before shipment, ensuring zero defects – effectively eliminating chassis "clunking" noise and steering looseness.

Installation Steps:
Safety Preparation:Lift vehicle, remove front wheels
Remove Control Arm:Remove lower control arm-to-subframe mounting bolts
Separate Ball Joint:Use specialized ball joint separator to loosen taper fit between control arm ball joint and steering knuckle
Remove Old Part:Remove ball joint lock nut, take off old ball joint
Clean Mounting Hole:Clean rust and dirt from steering knuckle taper hole
Install New Ball Joint:Insert new ball joint taper into steering knuckle taper hole, install lock nut, hand-tighten
Torque Lock Nut:Use torque wrench to tighten to factory specification
Install Dust Boot:If boot is separate, install and secure with retaining clip
Reassemble:Reinstall control arm and wheels in reverse order
Wheel Alignment:Wheel alignment is mandatory after lower control arm ball joint replacement
Installation Precautions:
Must use dedicated ball joint separator – do not strike steering knuckle directly with hammer
Lock nut is a self-locking nut – recommended to replace with new nut each time
Ensure taper surfaces are clean and free of oil/grease before assembly
Wheel alignment is mandatory after replacement to prevent uneven tire wear
Recommended to replace both left and right sides as a pair for symmetric suspension performance
