As a professional automotive lighting parts and precision injection molding factory, we proudly present the Rear Tail Light Socket Assembly designed specifically for the BYD Qin PLUS DM-i (5th Generation DM Super Hybrid) .
The rear tail light socket is the core structural component of the taillight assembly, also known as the "lamp housing" or "lamp base". Installed at the rear of the vehicle, inside the taillight lens, it secures internal components including LED light modules, reflectors, and harness connectors, and seals with the PC lens to form the complete taillight assembly. The socket is typically injection-molded from high-strength ABS or PP+GF engineering plastic, offering high temperature resistance, impact resistance, and dimensional stability.
The BYD Qin PLUS DM-i features a split tail light design. According to OE data, the Qin PLUS DM-i taillight assembly consists of three main parts: left assembly, right assembly, and through-type center light.
According to parts platform descriptions, the tail lamp socket is typically located on both sides of the trunk lid or the body side panel, secured to the body with clips and bolts, with the tail light assembly then installed onto the socket. The quality of the lamp socket directly affects the mounting stability of the tail light, the sealing and waterproof performance, and the reliability of the electrical connection.
In daily use, the tail light socket is long exposed to high temperature, humidity, and vibration environments, making it prone to housing cracking, mounting clip breakage, and sealing failure leading to water intrusion. When the socket is damaged, the entire socket assembly typically needs to be replaced without replacing the PC lens.
Our product is strictly developed to original Qin PLUS OE specifications, injection-molded from modified PP+GF or ABS engineering plastic, with clip holes and mounting positioning points precisely matching the original 1:1. Each product undergoes 100% dimensional inspection and clip alignment testing before shipment, ensuring direct replacement of damaged original parts with no-modification installation.
The lamp socket housing is injection-molded from modified PP+GF (glass fiber reinforced) or ABS engineering plastic, offering the following properties:
High Strength: Glass fiber reinforced for enhanced structural strength
High Temperature Resistance: Operating range -40°C to 120°C – resistant to deformation under long-term engine compartment/taillight heat
Impact Resistance: Good toughness, resists stone chips and minor impacts
Dimensional Stability: Precision mold control ensures installation accuracy
The housing features anti-fog, UV-resistant, and weather-sealed coating for reliable long-term performance. The surface features black matte finish, consistent with original appearance.
The tail light socket features a modular design with integrated features for:
LED module fixing points: Compatible with original LED circuit board (PCB)
Reflector slots: Secures optical reflection components
Harness connector interface: Original-spec wiring connection
Breathable membrane mounting position: Balances internal/external air pressure, prevents fogging
When replacing the socket, original LED modules, harnesses, reflectors, and other accessories can be directly transferred to the new socket – no additional modification required. According to product specifications, original-mold design enables plug-and-play installation without modifications. After socket replacement, sealing testing is recommended to ensure waterproof performance.
Tool Preparation:
Plastic pry tool (for taillight removal)
Cross screwdriver / Torx screwdriver (T20/T25)
10mm socket wrench
Heat gun (for lens separation)
Sealing adhesive (for resealing)
Important Note: For socket-only replacement, transfer original LED modules, harnesses, and reflectors to the new socket. This requires some technical skill.
Installation Steps (Socket Transfer) :
Remove Taillight Assembly: Remove inner trim panel, disconnect harness connector, remove mounting screws, remove old taillight assembly
Separate Lens from Socket: Use heat gun to evenly heat lens edge, soften sealant, carefully separate PC lens from old socket
Remove LED Modules: Remove LED modules, reflectors, harnesses from old socket
Clean New Socket: Clean interior mounting areas of new socket, remove dust and debris
Install LED Modules: Install original LED modules into corresponding fixing points on new socket
Install Reflectors: Snap reflectors into new socket slots
Connect Harness: Connect internal harness connectors, confirm clips lock
Seal Lens: Apply sealant to sealing groove of new socket, align and close PC lens, use clamps to hold until adhesive cures
Install Taillight: Install assembled taillight assembly back to vehicle, tighten screws, connect harness connector
Function Test: Test position light, brake light, turn signal, backup light, rear fog light
【Professional Tips】
LED modules are polarity sensitive – pay attention to circuit board orientation
Use dedicated automotive lens sealant for sealing to ensure waterproof performance
The tail lamp socket is secured to the body with clips and bolts – ensure clips lock securely
Professional technician guidance recommended
If unfamiliar with the process, consider replacing the complete taillight assembly
