Product Description:
A Piston Ring is a metallic split ring that is attached to the outer diameter of a piston in an internal combustion engine or steam engine.
The main functions of piston rings in engines are:
1.Sealing the combustion chamber so that there is minimal loss of gases to the crank case.
2.Improving heat transfer from the piston to the cylinder wall.
3.Maintaining the proper quantity of the oil between the piston and the cylinder wall
4.Regulating Engine Oil consumption by scraping oil from the cylinder walls back to the sump.
Advantages:
1.The surface of piston ring has oxide film, with corrosion resistance, anti-wearlubrication and good appearance.
2.Chrome plated layer, good wear resistance and storage lubricating oil
3.Nitriding treatment, with good wear resistance and corrosion resistance
4.Spring ptfe process, friction coefficient is very low, excellent lubricity.
Common problems with Piston Ring include:
1.Wear: Due to long-term use and friction, resulting in the surface wear of the piston ring, reducing the sealing performance.
2. Ablation: Due to the friction under high temperature and high pressure, the surface of the piston ring is ablated, affecting the sealing performance.
3. Damage: the piston ring may crack or break, resulting in reduced sealing performance.
4. Blockage: Oil stains or carbon deposits may accumulate on the piston ring, causing the piston ring to get stuck or lose elasticity.
5. Loose: the piston ring may be loose and lead to reduced sealing performance.
6. Increased fuel consumption: Piston ring problems will lead to increased fuel consumption inside the engine, affecting fuel economy
