3. Charging & Maintenance Guidelines
Recommended Charging Method: Use a dedicated 2S Li-Po CC/CV charger set to 8.4V ±0.05V (4.2V per cell). Optimal charge current: 0.5C (975mA) for maximum cycle life; maximum allowable charge current: 1C (1.95A) for fast charging.
Balancing Requirement: Critical — must be charged using a balanced charger to ensure both cells remain within ±0.05V of each other. Unbalanced charging risks overcharging one cell, leading to swelling or failure.
Charging Environment: Charge only in dry, ventilated areas within 0°C to 45°C. Avoid charging on flammable surfaces or in enclosed spaces.
Discharge Management: Never discharge below 6.0V (3.0V per cell). Devices must include low-voltage cutoff to prevent irreversible cell damage.
Storage Protocol:
For short-term (<1 month): Store at 40–80% SoC (6.8–7.8V).
For long-term (>1 month): Store at ~50% SoC (7.4V) in a cool, dry location (15–25°C).
Recharge every 3 months if unused to prevent deep discharge and cell degradation.
Handling Precautions: Avoid exposure to water, metal contact, or mechanical stress. Do not attempt to disassemble, solder directly to cell tabs, or modify the PCM.
