This IC ID Card Reader Speed Gate Turnstile is the card based entry lane used in office buildings , gyms , schools , factories , residential communities , subway concourses and staff canteens , where hundreds of people carry an existing IC or ID card and expect to walk through without stopping .

The lane reads proximity IC and ID cards as well as RFID tokens at the cabinet reader , returns a decision in milliseconds and opens the acrylic swing arm in 0.5 seconds , so a card holder keeps walking at normal pace instead of queuing at a turnstile . Because the reader works with the cards a site already issues , there is no need to replace an existing card estate , and the controller can be programmed per card group , per time zone and per direction .

Card reading is only half the job , so the lane is built to hold the rule . Without a valid card the arms stay locked and cannot be pushed open ; a second person walking in behind a valid card triggers the anti tailgating lock and an alarm ; an attempt to enter against the set direction is detected and refused . If the card holder does not pass within the configured time , the permission is cancelled automatically so a single read cannot be reused later in the day .
