The ASTM D648 Thermal Deformation Vicat Softening Point Tester (also referred to as Vicat Test Apparatus, HDT) adopts a PLC programmable logic controller for temperature control and features computer-based display and operation.

This tester offers distinct advantages including user-friendly operation, ease of use, stable performance, and high measurement accuracy. It enables real-time monitoring of test temperature and deformation throughout the entire testing process—ensuring full visibility of key test parameters.

Upon completion of the test, the system automatically terminates the heating process. It also supports the generation and printing of detailed test reports and test curves, facilitating efficient data documentation and analysis.

This series of testers serves as an essential testing instrument for quality inspection institutions, universities, and enterprise in-house quality control (QC) departments, supporting rigorous material performance validation in compliance with relevant standards.
