  1. Safe Deactivation of Batteries: The oxygen-free nitrogen atmosphere is critical for preventing thermal runaway, fires, and explosions during the heating process. It safely decomposes the flammable electrolyte and binder systems without combustion, rendering the batteries inert.

  2. Efficient Separation of Active Materials from Foils: The pyrolysis process effectively cracks and carbonizes the PVDF binder and electrolytes.
