The active ingredient of PrGV.Bt biological pesticide is PrGV (pieris rapae granulosis virus) and Bt (Bacillus thuringiensis). PrGV is a low-toxic, obligate insecticidal thorn of microbial origin. It is a non-pollution biological pesticide, mainly for gastric toxicity.
The pests infect the virus by feeding, and then the virus propagates in the pest body, spreading throughout the pest's system and ultimately causing death. Diseases and feces from dead insects can then spread the virus to other pests, allowing the virus to propagate through the pest population and effectively control infestations. This method does not pollute the environment.
After insects ingest the pesticide, Bacillus thuringiensis first acts on insect midgut cells, reducing the insect's immune system and making it more susceptible to PrGV infection. The PrGV then enters the body, replicates rapidly, and spreads throughout the pest's system. The pests lose their ability to harm crops and eventually die as their bodies liquefy. The PrGV continues to infect healthy pests and subsequent generations through body fluids and feces of dead insects, creating a sustained pest control effect.

Main Advantages of Insect Virus Pesticide
