The Monkeypox Virus (MPXV) PCR Nucleic Acid Detection Kit is a real-time PCR test kit for the detection of Monkeypox Virus DNA in liquid samples. It uses a fluorescent probe with a specific primer set to detect the J2R gene unique to the Monkeypox Virus genome.
While MPXV viruses are typically zoonotic (usually transmitted from animals to humans), this outbreak of MPXV has seen a higher rate of human-to-human transmission for reasons that are currently unclear. This new MPXV isolate is nearly identical to the one from the recent outbreak in the UK, differing by less than 100 bases out of more than 197,000 nucleotides. The Mpox Virus PCR Kit is designed to detect MPXV DNA to help the research community better test, evaluate and understand current strains of the virus.
Storage Conditions: Store the kit at -20°C for long-term storage. Components should be thawed and kept at 2-8°C during use.
