Ascorbyl Glucoside (abbreviated as AA2G) is a stable derivative of Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid). Formed via molecular conjugation between Vitamin C and glucose, it overcomes the instability and easy oxidation drawbacks of pure Vitamin C in aqueous solutions. Upon topical application to skin, endogenous enzymes gradually break it down into bioactive Vitamin C to deliver sustained benefits.

Skin Brightening & Spot Fading: A well-established brightening ingredient that effectively inhibits tyrosinase activity and reduces melanin formation to fade dark spots, age spots and freckles, evening out and brightening overall skin tone.
Antioxidation & Photoprotection: As a potent antioxidant, it neutralizes free radicals (e.g., reactive oxygen species induced by UV exposure), shields skin from environmental stress and photodamage, and helps prevent photoaging.
Collagen Boosting: Stimulates collagen synthesis to preserve skin elasticity and firmness and minimize fine lines and wrinkles.
Mild & Low Irritation: More neutral in pH and gentler than pure Vitamin C with minimal irritation, suitable for most skin types including sensitive skin.
Application Guidelines & Precautions
Excellent Stability: Thanks to its stable molecular structure, AA2G retains its bioactivity under high temperatures and across a wide pH range of 5.0–8.0, extending the shelf life of finished products.
Compatible Formulation: It blends well with ingredients such as niacinamide to synergistically enhance skin brightening and tone correction.
Daily Sun Protection: Daily sunscreen application is mandatory when using AA2G-containing skincare products to maximize brightening and antioxidant efficacy.
Safety Profile: Safe for cosmetic use at typical inclusion dosage of 2–5%, with very low incidence of skin irritation.
