Engineered for the Audi B9 platform 2.0T EA888 Gen3 engines, the piston assembly with part number 06L107065D is a critical internal component that transfers combustion force to the crankshaft via the connecting rod . This complete assembly includes the piston, piston rings, wrist pin, and retaining circlips for straightforward installation . The "black 23" designation indicates a 23mm wrist pin diameter, which is essential for compatibility with the updated connecting rods used in this engine generation .
Manufactured via a precision forging process using high-strength materials, this piston offers superior structural tensile strength and heat resistance compared to standard cast pistons, ensuring reliable performance under high-temperature combustion and intense power output . The optimized skirt coating effectively reduces cylinder wall friction, lowering engine noise and oil consumption . Each unit undergoes balance correction, pressure endurance, and thermal expansion testing to guarantee performance and reliability that meet or exceed original equipment standards . This piston assembly is a core component for engine rebuilds and effectively resolves common EA888 Gen3 issues including piston cracking, excessive oil burning, and power loss .
A worn or damaged piston can result in reduced engine performance, increased oil consumption, knocking noises, or catastrophic engine failure. Rebuilding with this premium 06L107065D assembly restores proper compression and engine function. This component is ideal for engine overhaul projects on B9 platform vehicles with 2.0T engines. Please confirm compatibility with your specific Audi model, production year, and connecting rod specifications before ordering to ensure accurate fitment.
