Brief Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Required Tools

1. Disassemble engine cylinder head, remove intake and exhaust manifold, timing chain assembly.
2. Take down oil pan, loosen connecting rod bearing caps and push out old damaged piston assemblies from cylinder top.
3. Thoroughly clean cylinder wall carbon deposits and measure cylinder bore wear data; hone cylinder wall if slight scratch exists.
4. Coat thin layer of assembly lubricant on new 06L107065D piston skirt, piston rings and piston pin surface.
5. Clamp piston rings with ring pliers, align piston combustion pit toward intake manifold side, push piston into cylinder smoothly.
6. Install connecting rod bearing shells, align piston pin and connecting rod small end, lock circlips on both pin ends firmly.
7. Tighten connecting rod cap bolts to Audi specified torque value in diagonal sequence.
8. Reassemble oil pan, timing system, cylinder head and all peripheral pipelines with new gaskets.
9. Refill fresh special engine oil and install new oil filter, idle engine for 15 minutes after startup to run-in new pistons.
