A tube bundle heat exchanger is a typical heat exchange device that allows two fluids with different temperatures to exchange heat. Through this device, one fluid can be cooled and another can be heated to meet their respective needs. This equipment is widely used in industrial sectors such as chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical, and energy industries, and is one of the indispensable and important equipment in chemical production.

Heat exchanger is one of the widely used unit equipment in various industries such as chemical, petroleum, and energy. According to statistics, the investment in heat exchangers accounts for about 30% of the total equipment investment in modern chemical industry, about 40% of all process equipment in refineries, and almost all seawater desalination process units are composed of heat exchangers. A survey of the foreign heat exchanger market shows that although the competitiveness of various plate heat exchangers is increasing, shell and tube heat exchangers still dominate by about 64%. The results of the development and research of new heat exchange elements and high-efficiency heat exchangers indicate that the tubular heat exchanger has entered a new research period. Both the heat transfer pipe fittings and the baffle structure of the shell side of the heat exchanger have undergone significant changes compared to traditional tubular heat exchangers. Its fluid dynamics performance, heat transfer efficiency, anti vibration and anti scaling effects have also made new progress from theoretical research to structural design.


The fluid channels formed inside the heat exchange tubes of a tube bundle heat exchanger are called the tube side, and the fluid channels formed outside the heat exchange tubes are called the shell side. A working fluid enters the heat transfer tube through the inlet pipe at the head end, and its process can achieve one tube side, two tube side, and four tube side structures according to process requirements; Another type of working fluid enters the shell through an inlet pipe at one end and is evenly distributed outside the heat transfer tubes. Its flow state can be adjusted by setting different types and quantities of baffles in the tube bundle according to process requirements. Two working fluids with different temperatures enter the heat exchanger. The working fluid with a relatively high temperature transfers heat to the working fluid with a relatively low temperature through the heat exchange tube wall. The working fluid with a relatively high temperature is cooled while the working fluid with a relatively low temperature is heated, thus achieving the goal of the two fluid heat exchange process.
