The mechanism behind spin down filters is elegant in its simplicity. Water enters the filter housing and is directed into a spinning chamber. As the water spins rapidly, heavier particles like sand, sediment, and rust are flung outward by centrifugal force. These particles then settle at the bottom of the filter, away from the clean water flowing through the center.
The sediment filter acts as the primary stage in your whole house water filtration system, protecting appliances like faucets, shower heads, water heaters, and washing machines from sediment damage.
No disassembly required - simply rotate the scraping knob to remove trapped particles and turn the drain valve to flush out sediments. The double-sided scrape feature prolongs sediment filter life.
Constructed with food-grade stainless steel mesh filter screens and lead-free brass components. The BPA-free water filter bottle withstands temperatures as low as -30°C and has passed rigorous water hammer resistance testing.
Includes three types of fittings (1" MNPT, 3/4" FNPT, and 3/4" MNPT) to accommodate different pipe sizes. Quick installation won't affect water pressure levels.
The installation point for a spin-down filter or sediment trap is typically directly after the pressure tank in a well system or prior to a whole house filtration system in municipal water applications.
