The Male Bag-on-Valve (BOV) is an advanced aerosol dispensing technology. Its core innovation is a multi-layer, laminated pouch that is permanently fixed to a valve system and housed inside a canister. The product formula is contained within this sterile pouch, while the space between the pouch and the canister is filled with an inert propellant (like compressed air or nitrogen). When the male actuator is pressed, the propellant pressure squeezes the pouch, forcing the pure, uncontaminated product out through the valve without ever contacting the propellant. The "male" designation refers to the valve's thread type, which is designed to be screwed into a corresponding female receptacle on the canister.
